Popular ABC television program The New Inventors is seeking budding inventors aged 18 or younger to share their inventions with viewers.
Applicants chosen to appear on the program will be in the running to win the prestigious Bright Spark Award, one of four national awards run by the program.
To enter, young inventors need a working prototype of their creation to be featured on the show.
Previous creations developed by young inventors include the one-handed potato processor, a wireless chess game, a paper aeroplane launcher and an insect-proof letterbox.
Prizes include funding from Austrade, AusIndustry and the CSIRO to help the winner develop and promote their idea, and a visit to IP Australia headquarters in Canberra for the winner and their guardian. While in Canberra, the winner will also receive one-on-one training with an intellectual property expert in the area of patents, trademark and design.
