Invicta house won their first athletics carnival in many years recently with a hard fought win over Haughton.
The interhouse athletics carnival was held on Wednesday the 18th of June with Invicta emerging victorious. The points total was close all day with the lead changing hands many times, and no house ever being more than 20 points in front until the very end. All participants from both houses are to be congratulated on the magnificent behaviour, team work and sportmanship they displayed all day. Smart Moves As part of the Queensland Government's Smart Moves program, all children at Giru State School have participated in running every morning. Points were awarded for each lap of the oval each child completed with points going towards the Smart Moves Shield. Invicta also took out this sporting shield. Well done everyone for your participation. |
