As part of Science Week, Giru State School held a Science Fair on Wednesday the 27th of August. Click Read more to view student reports of the day.

Last Wednesday on the 27th of August the extension group held a science fair. The main reason was to alert people to climate change and how to prepare for future tornados, floods, earthquakes and volcanic explosions.
Thomas and I displayed the bottled tornado. The day was pretty good and had plenty of action. Everyone really liked everything and marble run the best.

Last Wednesday, the 27th August, 2008, the extension group presented the Science Fair to the students at GiruStateSchool. The science fair activities were marble run, paper planes, fossils, construction challenge, volcanoes, bottled tornados, density columns and crater experiments.
We spread out our displays all over the school. Emma, Bianca and I did a poster on fossils and we had a mock fossil dig. We also showed some real fossils. Everyone had fun and I think it was a great success.

LastWednesday, the 27th August, 2008, the extension group put on a science fair for the rest of the school to celebrate National Science Week. We held it at GiruStateSchool. Each activity was different and the Prep/Year Ones really liked the marble bike jump.
Bradley and I did an experiment on tornados. There were also fossils, volcanoes, crater experiments, extreme weather events, flight experiments and construction activities. I think everyone had fun and I had fun too.

Last Wednesday, the 27th of August 2008, the extension group held a science fair at the school. The activities were fossil digging, volcanoes exploding, density columns, crater experiments, marble bike jumps, extreme weather events such as floods, earthquakes and bottled tornados. Flight runs were included. There was also a construction challenge. They were held on the oval, in the art room, at the eating areas and in the covered area. We had the science fair to celebrate National Science Week. Students rotated around the events every fifteen minutes. It was exhausting for the children presenting but I think that every one had fun.

Last Wednesday, the 27th of August 2008, the extension group presented the science fair to the rest of the school to celebrate National Science Week. We presented the science experiments and displays that we prepared in class for the last four weeks.
The theme of the science fair was Planet Earth: Planet of Change. Some of the experiments were fossils, volcanoes, density columns and crater experiments, marble bike jumps, extreme weather events, bottled tornados, flight and aerodynamics and construction challenge experiments. Our experiment was flight and aerodynamics.
I thought that the science fair was fun and everybody liked it.
