2008 Interhouse Athletics
The 2008 interhouse athletics carnival was held on Wednesday the 18th of June with Invicta house emerging victorious after an epic battle, with the lead changing hands many times throughout the day.
Grand Opening
In June, local member Rosemary Menkins officially opened the school' s new waterwise measures.
School Tree Day
Friday the 25th of July was School Tree Day. The year 4/5s at Giru planted a butterfly garden.
School Leaders Trip 2009
In March, the school leaders travelled to Brisbane to attend a school leaders conference.
Under 8's Day
On Monday the 2nd of June, 2009, Giru State School celebrated Under 8's Day. Children, parents and staff from the Day Care Centre visited for the morning, having great fun rotating through a range of activities.
