On the 26th of October the year 6/7 boys and girls from Clare and Giru went to Rockhampton for camp.

At 9:30pm on Sunday night we hopped on the bus and we were supposed to go to sleep but we didn’t - except for Michael who snored all the way from Clare to Rockhampton!!
On arrival, we went to McDonalds for breakfast, yum!!! Then we went to the Dreamtime Cultural Centre and threw boomerangs. Afterwards we went to the beach and to our motel at Coolwaters Caravan Park. At Coolwaters we jumped on the huge pillow and played volleyball.
On the second day we went to the Heritage Village. We got to ride on a Cobb & Co stagecoach and had damper and cordial for morning tea. Then we went to the Capricorn Caves, it was very interesting, although, Mr Knight wasn’t keen going up the Whale’s Belly, a small tunnel that you had to squirm through to get to the top of the cave.
All too soon it was the 3rd day, we went to Mt. Hay mining for thunder eggs where Mr Knight found the largest one and Mr Brady got jealous and asked the owners for an excavator so he could did deeper!!! Then we ventured off to Gracemere Sale Yards, this was the smelliest place of all. Mr Knight wanted to buy a bull but was afraid that he would get in trouble when he got home!! Straight after we went back to Coolwaters.
Our fourth day was our last day of adventuring around. First we went to the Singing Ship and the beach, secondly, we went to the Koorana Crocodile Farm, where we saw many huge crocodiles. Thirdly, we went to Cooberrie Park, unfortunately, Robert fell down and bruised his shin and had to go to hospital. Lastly, we went to the Horse And Carriage, that was very interesting.
On our last day the bus was delayed because it only had 2 inches of fuel in its tank and Mr Mio had to help our driver get it started. We were very behind schedule when the bus got going; however, we soon made up time.
All in all in was a really good camp and we can’t wait to find out where Mr Knight takes the 6/7 next year.
