We believe Giru State School is a wonderful school, due to its strong links with the local community. Whether it is volunteers from the community helping out within the school, our wonderful tuckshop ladies and gentlemen, or the children from the school turning out in great numbers for local events like the annual ANZAC parade, we’re always working together towards a great school and a great community.
Giru State School currently consists of three classes, staffed by teachers and teacher aides with many years of experience in multi-age classrooms. Teachers and teacher aides are committed to providing children with a rich learning environment in which all learners can experience success and thrive.
Staff at Giru State School believe that children require a range of experiences to help them develop into extraordinary individuals. Out-of-the-ordinary programs currently include our chickens and food garden, litter free lunch day, wetlands care project in partnership with Dry Tropics NQ, and our reef guardian status in partnership with Reef HQ. We are also proud of our state-of-the-art technological assets, including laptops and iPads in every learning space.
